Best of Engagement Ireland 2015 - Tomasz Kornas

Engagement shoots, Post-wedding sessions or vows renewals. I have witnessed them all this year. Couples brought my around the entire country and it was great to witness love, in a very casual way. Whether it was Cong Abbey in Mayo, Cliffs of Moher or simply a local beach in Cork. I tried to approach these spots in a very personal way, and I hope to visit more spots like that again.

Ballinacura House Wedding Ireland - Tomasz Kornas

Wedding on a last day of the year ? Make sure it’s done with style. And that is how Ola and Steve planned their Wedding. They didn’t have an official theme per se, but they went for a jazz-age type look with the stationery and bridal party’s clothing choices. Despite floods around the area, actual day  brought sun and a lot of happiness in this Polish-Irish Wedding.

Ballyvolane House Ireland Wedding - Tomasz Kornas

Without a doubt one of my favourite stories of the Autumn. Somehow I was let into people’s lives just for one day, the thrust that I have received has helped to capture some really beautiful and important images. Be ready for some tears as you browse today’s story of Julia and Rory in Ballyvolane House.

Killashee House Naas Ireland Wedding - Tomasz Kornas

I remember walking in to Killashee House Hotel on a misty Sunday morning. I had waited a long time for the day to come as I knew what was going to happen. I met Aisling and Alan a while back and somehow I knew that their Wedding Day would be completely different to what I have seen before. I was right. I walked into a room full of smiling faces and nothing else. There was a very chilled out ambience in the room and you could feel the unconditional love from the family. Everyone was so open and supportive, and there was me in the middle of the action. For the very first time I really felt I was a fly on the wall and in a super positive way! Its natural that people are always aware of me in the room, even when I ask them to ignore me, and I mean to completely ignore me. I become a witness to many beautiful moments, moments that weren’t necessarily so obvious in real time. I was completely sold on this day. I was allowed to do anything I wanted. There were no shot lists, no silly must-do photos, just license to capture the entire day they way I wanted, the way I felt. That freedom for me was an extremely positive experience. Without any more words, here it is, my story of unconditional love.

Ashford Castle Ireland Wedding - Tomasz Kornas

You know it was a great wedding day when you finally sit back into the car and say ’that was INCREDIBLE’. I spent this Wedding day in the most beautiful locations along the West Coast of Ireland. From the minute I saw a beautiful MG sports car parked outside the house and the beautiful sleeved dress on the positively stunning bride, I knew this would be a truly special day.

Having planned the trip carefully to maximise the photographic opportunities of Cong Abbey, I was ready to capture imagery, which would become very special and very personal to the Bride and Groom. In the end we all worked hard to make the most of a great day and the images speak for themselves. While the weather assisted us greatly by providing some beautiful light, the open mindedness and ‘do whatever you want’ approach of Sandra and Dara allowed me to work outside a clinical shot-list and capture the images I felt captured the wonder of the day.

I now invite you to enjoy the images taken on this beautiful day. This alternative wedding day was full of surprises (not to mention a selection box in summer time) and was a creative flurry from start to finish. It’s important to mention that Ashford Castle (which is beside Cong Abbey and part of the estate) was recently voted as being the best Hotel in the World.
