Best of 2015 - Richard Skins

2015 you have been outstanding! I’ve been very lucky that I’ve met some truly inspiring couples that have made it a pleasure to photograph weddings the length & breadth of the country. From Claire & David’s misty wedding on the Cornwall coast to photographing the lovely Dan & Sarah’s wedding at Kingscote Barn; and especially my very close friends Simon & Jo’s wedding in my hometown, incredible!!!! I’ve also met some lovely people in the wedding industry that have helped me make my mind up that this is definitely what I want to do for the very considerable future! I have some absolutely amazing weddings lined up in 2016, I’m looking forward to taking everything I have learned this year to make sure every couple gets something special.

The Crypt London Wedding - Tom Robak

Wow, I absolutely loved this wedding for so many reasons! Sarah and James are a really fun and laid back couple, plus I always love a London wedding. There are so many things I loved about this wedding, from Sarah’s stunning wedding dress, funny Bridesmaids, their style and dresses, through to the beautiful ceremony at Asia House and”non-stop” laughing James… Simply all day was perfect! There was a real London feel about this wedding, and I loved the fact that when we were traveling from Malmaison, a stunning hotel in Central London where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready, to the ceremony venue at Asia House, we just used a black cab. On top of that after the ceremony we were riding red buses to the reception venue. How cool is that! Pure photo journalistic approach to this one. And the venue… The Crypt – one of the darkest wedding venues I’ve seen in London so far, I have to praise Canon, couldn’t have done it without it. The Crypt is dark. Very dark. I was working close to the extremes of my equipment at several points of the reception but using the nice lighting coming from the various spotlights and the candles all around I was able to create pictures that are a real reflection of the day itself.
